Erin grew up in Hallettsville, Texas.
She pledged Delta Zeta at the University of Houston and served
as President and Vice President of New Member Education for her
collegiate chapter. She received the Florence Hood Miner
and Grace Mason Lundy awards, the two highest individual awards
given to junior and senior Delta Zetas (respectively). She
was a member of the Honors College, studied abroad in Italy,
France, and Spain, and graduated with a Bachelor of
Architecture. While at UH she met her husband Justin, and
they married shortly after graduation.
Erin remained involved in Delta Zeta after
college and has been an active member of the Houston Alumnae
Chapter, holding a variety of positions over the years,
including President. She served as the Alumnae Membership
Chair for the Southwest Area, Regional Collegiate Director for
Texas and New Mexico, National Academics Chairman, and is
currently serving as a National Standards Committee Support
Expert. Erin began her involvement with HAPA in 2008 when
she designed the program for the Scholarship Luncheon, a project
she continues to produce each year. She has also served as
the DZ Delegate to HAPA, Ways & Means Chair, and a HAPF Trustee,
holding the positions of Recording Secretary, Treasurer, and now
President. Erin was named a Citation Member of HAPA in
2019.
Professionally, Erin worked for Hermes
Architects, where she specialized in retail site planning,
development and design for projects such as Gulfgate Center and
IKEA, but also worked on collaborative projects including the
NRG Stadium Complex (formerly Reliant) and Wheatley High School.
After the birth of their first child, Erin became self-employed,
focusing on residential and small-scale commercial design, and
drafting for electrical and plumbing contractors. She and
Justin also began investing in real estate, remodeling homes for
rentals and resale.
Erin’s three children and two nephews keep
her busy with their middle school, high school, and college
activities. Over the years she has been instrumental in
starting up and leading PTOs and Booster Clubs at their schools.
She has also held offices in the Down Syndrome Association of
Houston, and has been involved in Houston ISD, serving on the
Special Education Ad Hoc Committee and Special Education
Advisory Committee.
Erin and Justin have lived in the Heights
for 18 years and enjoy raising their kids in a community with a
small town feel in the heart of Houston.
